Beecraigs Fishery Monthly Report, Prospects and Records
June 2011
Anglers on Beecraigs Loch have taken a lot of quality fish, both rainbows and blues, with many baskets having been recorded. Weather wise June was very mixed, the first half of the month was bright with light winds and the second half being wet and windy. Typical Scottish summer you may say!
The trout fed heartily during the month, mainly on buzzers during the day and sedges in the evening. By far the favoured tactic was floating or intermediate lines with buzzers, hares ear, daiwl bach and crunchies all scoring well. Anglers who liked to fish lures found that yellow dancer, orange fritz, black and green fritz and, of course, the infamous orange blob accounted for many fish.
