Beecraigs Fishery Monthly Report, Prospects and Records

June 2007

Anglers had to contend with some quite atrocious weather during June with cold easterly winds and day upon day of monsoon-like rain.   However, in spite of the inclement conditions a lot of good fish were caught.   The water clarity is at present crystal clear and anglers are reporting to staff they are getting a lot of fish follwoing the fly right into the side of the boat.   Catches have been excellent and a lot of twelve fish boats have been taken.

Fish have been caught in the top 18inches of the loch and by far the best line has been an intermediate and nymph patterns of which Buzzers, Diawl Bach, Hare's Ear and Snatchers have all scored well.  Towards the end of June there were some quite spectacular hatches of sedges abd trout could be seen feeding all over the loch.
