Beecraigs Fishery Monthly Report, Prospects and Records
March / April 2011
March saw the first hatch of Buzzers on the loch and some good rises have taken place with a few fish being caught on dry fly as well. Tactics used have been a fast glass or an intermediate line with small flies/lures doing the business. Top patterns being Black & Green Fritz, Yellow Dancer, Goldhead Ace and Cats Whiskers. Also, as ever, the popular Booby in its many colours took a lot of fish. By far the best fly has been a small size 10 Cormorant fished on the top dropper. Buzzers and Snatchers have also been successful; as has the Damsel Nymph.
April has been another great month on Beecraigs Fishery with the majority of anglers weighing-in their limit. The weather improved gradually through the month as spring really took hold.
